About Alzheimer’s Queensland

Founded in 1998, Alzheimer’s Queensland (AQ) is Australia’s largest dementia association, which also caters to older Australians in need of loving care and support.
As a fully ‘inclusive’ organisation, AQ strives to create meaningful lives, by tailoring a person’s living arrangements and lifestyle to best meet their, or their loved one’s needs.

We are a progressive, not-for-profit organisation that provides a comprehensive and bespoke suite of world-class aged care services, delivered by more than 500 allied healthcare professionals, registered nurse care, expert lifestyle, community respite and hospitality and domestic personnel.

Our services include community respite (in home and centre care), home care packages, specialist dementia care services, education and training, and a national, 24/7 Dementia helpline operated by healthcare professionals.

Renowned for our excellence in service provision, we also offer a variety of allied health services, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology and wellness programs.

We believe that each individual has a unique set of experiences and abilities that should be celebrated and optimised at every stage of life.

We pay added attention to needs of consumers from the LGBTI and diverse cultural backgrounds. AQ’s specialist staff and supporters share our belief and work every day with our clients to empower them to have a good life.
