DACS offers flexible respite care services from the comfort of a client’s own home, providing their primary carer with a break, so they can recharge and maintain a level of independence.
At DACS, we offer both in-home day respite and community access individual respite depending on the clients’ needs and capabilities. For our in-home respite service, a carer will come to the client’s home to provide care and support, allowing their primary carer to take a break and go out for a few hours.
Our community access individual respite provides clients with individual outings which aims to provide them with a social experience that encourages and supports independent living.
Flexible respite, which may, or may not be in the presence of the carer, includes:
- Companionship and daytime care in a client’s own home
- Spending time in the community, such as going to church, participating in a day program, or attending a Meals on Wheels community restaurant.
