Personal Care

Personal care is crucial to everyone’s health and wellbeing and is essential to independent living. At DACS we understand that individuals may require varying levels of personal care so we can tailor our personal care packages accordingly.

Our personal care services range from help with showering, bathing, grooming, toileting and maintaining appropriate standards of hygiene to help getting out of bed, moving around the house and eating. We are committed to building confidence during personal care and if appropriate, improving capacity for self-management.

Our experienced nursing and care workers are also able to assist clients with the self-administration of medication. Dose administration aids can be used to provide medications where a registered nurse who is qualified to administer medications is unavailable, and can be used to assist residents to self-administer.

We offer assistance with:

  • Showering
  • Using the toilet and maintaining personal hygiene
  • Eating
  • Grooming
  • Dressing
  • Mobility, such as getting in and out of bed, or moving around the house
  • Managing medication
  • Acquiring aid, or offering provisions to assist with the above-mentioned self-care-related tasks.
